The Dishwasher Problem
The narrower part of this slider (back/right) is supposed to attach to another very similar piece of metal in order to extend it. The attachment is via 3 spot-welds, and the welds all failed yesterday.
The weld-points are the slightly brownish spots.
Here's the other side, just for context (and part number):

...and here's the best solution I've been able to come up with for re-attaching the broken one: literally a paper-clip.
Unfortunately, I was only able to get that in place and bent properly because I have access to both sides of the assembled rail-pair where it slides outside of the dishwasher enclosure. The other end doesn't allow that, since it stays inside regardless of slide position.
Apparently the only way to remove the whole assembly requires pulling the dishwasher out of the cabinet, to access screws on the outside.
