At about 4pm, the broken-nose tree finally fell down. We've been dreading this for years. Duke Energy asked for (and got) permission to cut it down maybe 5-10 years ago, but never did.
It had gotten to the point where I was nervous every time I had to walk through the area where I knew it would fall, if it fell -- because it very much felt like one of those things where it would just randomly fall down one day, and not wait for a storm or even a high wind... and here we are.
