Revision as of 22:31, 28 January 2010
We are currently seeking a group home for Josh. We have applied to the following:
- (January 2010) Residential Services Inc got back to us within a week and essentially decided that he needed a higher level of care than they could provide
- came highly recommended
- they do take private pay for the part not covered by Medicaid
- (2008) the therapeutic respite program at the Murdoch Center in Butner -- turned down completely
- (2007-12-27) Gaitway, a small group home operated by ASNC in Carrboro
- my extended answers for that application are here
- (September 2007) GHA in Albemarle, NC: he is on their waiting list, but they cannot give us any idea of how long it will be before a slot opens up (checked March 2008, September 2008)
- in Albemarle, NC (near Charlotte), but is reportedly really good
- working farm setting
- (July, 2007) Carolina Living and Learning Center - on the waiting list
- not sure why we applied here, since they seem to only take adults -- but someone recommended it, and anyway he will probably be an adult by the time they have a slot
- this apparently gets him onto TEACCH's general waiting list, which occasionally has other openings
