About
We applied for the PATH program for Josh in approximately April, 2008.
They turned him down and declined to even place him on a waiting list because they didn't think it would be appropriate for him, and that we need to try community supports (i.e. developmental therapy and other services through The Durham Center) first. We interpret this to mean that he wasn't extreme enough to need their services.
It's not clear whether there might be other programs at Murdoch which would be appropriate for him, but we certainly would not want to place him there unless they had a good track record at working with profoundly autistic people. (We have absolutely no data either way on this.)
