So, today's StringThing meeting is an expanded group, with lots of moms and kids. I'm getting fresh exposure to my own difficulties with socializing, only without the self-hatred this time. Prosopagnosia is definitely an issue; one person came in who I immediately recognized as someone we knew, and it wasn't until H started talking with her and introducing her to everyone (including me) that I realized she wasn't. Her voice was different too, though that wasn't obvious at first.
Remembering names and personal details is also just... impossible... and as much as I might like to engage and be friendly, the things they talk about -- food, schools... -- as necessary and useful as they are, just don't interest me. (Dealing with schools was always depressing and hard for me, never something to be excited about.)
