A very persistent salesman talked me into making an appointment right then and there rather than giving me time to think and then setting it up later with an appointment system or whatever.

(Getting a roof-repair estimate is something I've needed to do for some months now.)

He seemed knowledgeable, having pointed out several issues with our roof -- we are well aware that it's due or overdue for replacement, so I'm not at all surprised that there were things to note.

Unfortunately, all of their appointment windows are 6:30pm or later -- he said they do this to accommodate people who work during the day, but I guess the fact that we work from home and like to shut down socially after 5pm or so doesn't warrant accommodation.

They also didn't have an email address where I could send inquiries.

I was told that we would get a call 24 hours before the appointment, and then another call 2 hours before. They did apparently call about 24 hours before, but left no message; there were no follow-ups. I gave them our email address, but they did not send any email.

...and the guy never showed up.
