This concoction is one of the few things that kills cockroaches around the house. It is also relatively non-hazardous to humans, though you should still keep it out of reach of pets and children.

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp almond butter (or any other kind of nut butter)
  • 1 tsp boric acid

Exact quantities probably do not matter much.

Mix everything together and leave in multiple locations, one dollop (~1 quarter tsp) per location. What works well for us is to put each dollop in a used juice lid. Leave the lids inside drawers and cabinets where the cockroach population seem to be the highest.

They seem to remain effective for at least 3-6 months, as long as the dose hasn't been completely consumed (keep an eye on each one so you can replace those quickly).
