We have too many computers – looked at one way; in other ways, we don't have enough.

Specifications

This is a brief record of the specs of the various machines we use.

• Beaker: Windows 98
  • Harena's Windows-addiction machine, now used only for Eudora and games
• Bunsen: Fedora Core 4, soon (hopefully) to be upgraded to 6
  • Harena's main desktop
• Cookie: Pentium III 731.594 MHz, ~384 MB RAM, ~40 GB HD; Ubuntu 6.10
  • This is officially Zander's machine
• Floyd: Ubuntu 6.10
  • Harena's laptop
• Gonzo: Ubuntu 6.10
  • Woozle's main desktop
• Melorr: Windows XP (not by our choice)
  • Mel's laptop
• Mokey: Windows 98
  • Woozle's old Win98 machine, still used for development work (and MS Access and Endicia) but planned to become Benjamin's machine, if we ever find a place to set it up
• Rizzo: Ubuntu 6.10; half a terabyte of HD space
  • The basement-rat server; runs Apache and MySQL for web site development; stores backups
• Vincent: Intel x86 Family 15 Model 2 Stepping 4, whatever that is; 1022 MB RAM; 55.8 GB HD; Windows 98
  • Woozle's Windows-addiction machine; used for CoolEdit Pro, PaintShop Pro

Also, Josh's machine isn't on the network; it's a very outdated Pentium-something running Windows 95B.
