* '''2005-10-01''' The City of Durham says they will soon be forbidding parking on the north side of old Pinecrest, in an effort to allow fire engines to get through faster. (This will also no doubt aid the many morning commuters, who also use Pinecrest as the fastest route between Point A and Point B, to get to their respective fires.) Should we start an online petition about this?

==FOIA Request Draft==
To Whom it May Concern:

Pursuant to the state open records law, N.C. Gen. Stat. sec. 132-1 to
132-10, I am requesting access to and a copy of all public records
relating in any way to parking on Pinecrest Road.  If your agency
does not maintain these public records, please let me know who does
and include the proper custodian's name and address.

I am requesting at this time all memoranda, reports, studies, meeting
notes, correspondence, site analysis, cost analysis, fire department
analysis or reports, voicemail messages, transcripts, or summaries,
and any other documentation regarding parking on Pinecrest Road from
the matter's inception to the date of this letter.  Finally, I
request any e-mails discussing parking on Pinecrest Road and
information as to whether such emails were in response to inquiries
or initiated by the City of Durham.

Though they may not meet the criteria for being considered public
records, I ask that you include documents generated by the City of
Durham and its attorney and staff.  I also ask that documents
provided to you by any other municipality or government agency or any
third party contractors that were hired by the City of Durham with
respect to this matter be included.

I agree to pay any reasonable copying and postage fees of not more
than $100. If the cost would be greater than this amount, please
notify me. Please provide a receipt indicating the charges for each
document.  I prefer these documents be provided in CD format.

I would request your response within ten (10) business days.

If you choose to deny this request, please provide a written
explanation for the denial including a reference to the specific
statutory exemption(s) upon which you rely.  Please provide all
segregable portions of otherwise exempt material.

* What ever happened to speed humps? I gather that the current obstacle is funding. How do we keep updated on this so that we will have a petition ready when there's funding again?
