Twitch was a rescue squirrel someone gave my mother to take care of. She came with a brother who died of unknown causes some days after we received them both. They had both fallen out of a tree.
We raised Twitch to adulthood and released her into the woods behind 2719 McDowell Road; she came back repeatedly for food and interaction, sometimes trailed by younger squirrels who were presumably her kids. She remained semi-tame the whole time, though her kids never would quite let us touch them.
