The Open Letter to Whole Foods Chapel Hill explains our original reasons (as of 2009); since then, they have been acquired by Amazon, which we are also boycotting, so that kinda clinched it.
We do occasionally (I think less than a half-dozen times in the past decade) get a few vital items from there when we are in a hurry and can't find them anywhere else.
