Dear Family,

I am so sorry for your loss. I taught Shannon at Southern High School. She was one of the most caring students I have ever taught. After graduating from Southern, we still were very good friends. I use to be in the Southern High School talent shows, for fun. During one show, I dressed up as Boy George. Shannon fixed my make up, and people actually thought I was a woman. I don't take the newspaper and just saw this online. My heart is saddened for all of you, but I know that Shannon is just fine. You are all in my prayers.

I remember the summer that I stayed (babysat) with Shannon. I think I was about 16 and she was probably about 8 years old. We'd sing songs while we were outside on the swings. She was a busy and precocious child! Such a shock and very sad for her life to shortened.

I have known Shannon all her life as she grew up next door and was in and out of our house with our children. I am very sorry that her life was ended so soon. All our love to her husband and children, Beth and Jay.
