Staddon vs. Griever: Legal Documents

Introduction

The following documents are transcribed verbatim, with a very few typos and spelling errors fixed (and probably a few added). I have left off the headers and footers, which basically just name the Plaintiffs (me and my corporation), the Defendants, and associated lawyers. In some cases, where two or more documents appeared to share large sections of text, I have actually transcribed the text only once, and essentially copied/pasted it into the other documents (using a MediaWiki feature called a Template) after a once-over proofread to make sure there were no changes from document to document.

Phase 1 (criminal)

"If you really want me to show the world what a liar and an idiot you are then by all means just say the word." -- Bubba, final email to Nick, 2003-11-28

At Lynne's request, I had allowed her to use my car in exchange for $100/week rent (her suggested figure). When I tried to get it back, I was first met with repeated stalling and finally a flat claim that they were keeping it in exchange for debts I supposedly owed her and Bubba. This would seem to be a classic case of conversion, which is illegal. More details in SvsG:Benz Rental.

Phase 2 (civil)

Defendants apparently also asked for an extension, which Plaintiffs were legally required to grant. I do not have the paperwork for this.

  • 2005-12-16: mediated for 2 hours in Athens, with mediator Joe Neighbors; present were Lynne, Nick, and their respective lawyers. It was agreed that Nick would produce an accounting of sales such that the Defendants' claimed share could be calculated; in return, Defendants would produce a list of stock items still in their possession. Mediation to resume at a date in January to be arrived at. (As of this writing, I do not have a copy of that agreement or of the mediation agreement specifying the terms of confidentiality.)
Nick notes: I attempted to return some personal items to Lynne (45 RPM record recorded by Lynne in the late 1970s and some CDs of Bubba's), and made sure the mediator was aware that I wanted to give them to Lynne, but for some reason the mediator forgot about them when he was done talking with Ms. Call and me. I had put them away in my box in case we needed to change rooms, and then forgot about them as well. Since then, I have added to the cache an expired driver's license of Lynne's which I found in the Benz.
