Now they are ready for the crockpot! I got them that way after trying several different methods including poking at them through the ziplock bag they were in (this was way too arduous and not comprehensive at all; this was the method I used for the first & smaller batch & it was Annoying to say the least) and whacking at them with a rubber mallet through the ziplock bag (which only really served to mush the bits together & didn't break them up much at all).

And then a friend suggested a cheese slicer which appealed to me but I still felt it wouuld be too time consuming. But that made me think of the egg slicer which I had been using for Z's boiled eggses for his lunches and I tried that. At first I tried slicing the bits like they were eggs but too much of it stuck to the slicer itself. But when I tried pushing the soap through just the wire part, that worked really well! I sorted out a method of holding the wired half between my two hands and putting the bits on top and pushing it through like that (and repeating for bits that cut long ways but needed to be cut the other direction too) and ended up with bits as shown in the picture.

It was still a bit Laborious, so I am envisioning something a bit larger but that I could maybe still hold in my hands as I push the bits back & forth through the wires. Now, if I could just get someone to build me this... Maybe Woozle in all his spare time...
