Heya Tim, Thanks for the check. I would have gotten back to you sooner, but (as you might have guessed) we’ve been a bit busy...
The situation at the studio has changed a bit, I think for the better. Dan has taken all his equipment (except for his half of the mixing board) and turned over the lease; he will no longer be “formally” involved with the studio, though he may be doing some work there.
The owners will be (once the paperwork is all set up): myself, Dave Fredricks (the Lulu’s guy), Shawn, and probably Brian Morris. We spent the weekend before last making repairs: I rebuilt the front stairs, and Brian knocked down the chimney (and patched the roof), preparatory to re-seating the center beam and replacing the floor joists. After that we’ve got the bathroom to finish, drywall to put up, and a false sound-wall to create. The wiring needs work and there are also a bunch of “minor” (ha ha) things to attend to. We’re hoping to have the place ready by January so we can spend that month learning the equipment; if that works out, we’ll start actively seeking clientele in February.
I look forward to hearing your tape. Dan gave me the rough draft of his (would you like a copy? It would be 2nd generation, tho) and while I think it’s interesting, I find myself a bit underwhelmed. We’ll see how the public responds...
That’s all for now. Keep in touch...
Nick (Livia & Anna in attendance)
