South Square Mall/woozle

Bits and pieces I remember:

• At the mall's grand opening (which, if I remember correctly, was on a Saturday), the only place to eat was the Chick-Fil-A. I had never heard of them before.
• The outbuilding containing the "Big Star" grocery store (near the corner of Shannon Rd. and 15-501 Blvd.) was not demolished; it had already changed tenancy to Office Depot and several smaller businesses and is still extant as of 2017.
• There was a Chinese restaurant just off the main entrance, lower level, in the early years -- before 1985 (and before I liked Chinese food).
• There was a seafood-ish place on the upper level called Spinnaker's, with its own outside entrance to the left of the main one. They served bread in a flowerpot as a free appetizer (it was pretty good). They were around as late as 1991 (one time I went there, the waitress was one of my sister's old friends that we hadn't heard from since the 1970s), but were gone by 2001.
• the food court and Radio Shack:
  • In the early 1980s, I used to go to the food court for lunch and get pizza from Schiano's, which had become Sbarro by 2001. (I could ramble more about Schiano's.)
  • The Chick-Fil-A was originally in the food court, but moved to a satellite location off University Drive at some point. Just this year (2017), they moved to a new building on the former location of Spartacus (Greek restaurant with a lunch buffet; building demolished in early 2017).
  • I went to the mall several times towards the end of its life because that remained the nearest Radio Shack. RS was near the back entrance (the one shown in the demolition photos above) on the upper level, so I would park in the lot being demolished in the photos above. That entrance opened onto the food court. I do remember noting that there weren't many stores left, but never thought to take a photo of the interior. (Photos cost money back then, and cameras didn't fit easily in pockets.)
    • I think there was a separate entrance to the food court near the anchor-store entrance (with the arched cupola); I usually went in that way to get to Radio Shack instead of through the anchor store, even though the anchor store would have been more direct (I think), but I don't remember why. (...need to check the mall map I found elsewhere)
