South Square Mall was a shopping mall in Durham -- I think it was the first one[1], built in approximately 1975 and demolished in early 2003 or late 2002 and replaced by an eponymous strip mall.

The only surviving building from the original construction was originally a Big Star (grocery store), now an Office Depot.
