Finally got this message -- inasmuch as your email was going to the wrong place, so was mine...
Up till about a month ago, I was carefully reconciling expected customer deposits with actual deposits from CardService, and they matched pretty closely to the expected amounts (not exactly the same because of the 2.5-3.5% "discount" and the per-transaction fees).
For the last few weeks I haven't been tracking them as closely (I do plan to catch up), but the amounts have still been in the general ballpark and none have gone missing as far as I can tell. So yes, we are
getting the incoming benefits. They just aren't as much as they should be. A substantial part ot The Big Reconciliation will be figuring out why they don't seem closer to 150% of cost-of-merch, though I know at
least part of that is due to bad payments -- we order the merch on the strength of the order, and then the card is bad or we never get the check. Bubba seems to be having a hard time staying on top of the contact list -- but that gets into issues best discussed separately.
(as far as having access to the account -- did you get the password I sent via ICQ? Did you get the other account settings I emailed?)

I've put RDA money in to be sure it doesn't go negative but according to my understanding of the numbers.... I've put in more than what it should be taking and the account hasn't been in a position to pay RDA back for the money for Liquid Blue.

Well, you saw _my_ understanding of the numbers -- which is that (to the best of my recollection without actually looking at the email... and unless you deposited some more today) you've used $300 or so more than you've replaced, and the net balance increase over the past week or two should have been about $200.
I will be driving to NC again Friday or Saturday. I have an appointment Firday a.m. with a possible source of programming income (don't hold yr breath, tho) but could be available for meeting in the afternoon
depending on how things go with that and other stuff.

Nick,
I do not get icq and I don't get involved with Bubba's machine at this point because anything I access can and often does kind of change the train of thought for the user who is in and out and relying on the computer being where he left off when he gets back.... I just talked to him, though, and he told me what it was... I have to say... the password is kinda "dumb."
I will be trying to work through the whole settings and password thing a little later...
Would your programming job be here, in Athens? Is this a current message?  Are you really talking about leaving tomorrow or Saturday, like, this weekend?

Nick,

Is there a secret combination to download the batches of stuff that accumulate in the other place in the universe that the new server stores data? From the looks of things... there is probably a batch out there again...

Status: the balance is positive again, though only barely. However, there are still debits in the queue, and they will bring it down to -$127 if no additional deposits are made.

The other bad news (in a sense... it is also good in that it means I didn't screw anything up, e.g. forget to close the batch or something) is that the deposits for the last batch of orders already came through back on 7/30, at which point we had a balance of $730 (and this was after Lynne's check for $1250 cleared). In the interim, the following groups of transactions happened:

$443 -- Liquid Blue
$90 -- NSFs
$700.00 -- RDA deposits
$790.63 -- RDA debits cleared
$144.85 -- RDA debits in queue
$41.85 -- other misc. business debits (mostly CardService's monthly fee)

Since the balance would have been about $245 at this point if not for all the RDA usage, I consider the NSFs to be RDA transactions as well.

The net change in the RDA's credit with RH since 7/30 is therefore -$325.48.

** HOW TO ACCESS THE ACCOUNT ONLINE:
https://internetbanking.suntrust.com
CID: 582194466
password: I will send this separately via ICQ to Bubba

The first page just shows you the "current" balance; click on the account number link to see the three different balances -- "available" is the current balance less any uncollected deposits, and "collected" is (I think) the available balance less any debits in the queue.

Click on the balance again to see the actual transaction detail.

Please let me know if you have any questions about the system.

In the very near future, I will have to start charging for the time I spend keeping track of all these extraneous transactions. I could do this by the hour or by the transaction; I'm inclined to go by the transaction to keep it predictable, but your input is welcome.

Thanks,

N.

The password is a commentary on SunTrust's protecting me from myself, not anything else, lest there be any confusion. I'd been using their online access for about a year quite happily, and then they suddenly decided that passwords had to be longer and had to contain a number.

I meant that the password was IDIOTIC22, or DAFT44, or IGNORANT88, just a play on words. I was being silly77. I should stop being stupid...Oh! Oh! I should! No... I guess we'll keep on keepin' on... bein' stupid...
