The next morning they found~~ her ~~bed neatly made (which she always did, as a habit), but no Jenny~~. She often went for walks early in the morning (up at dawn), ~~so the only unusual part was that she hadn't returned yet. (According to my memory, this would have been a Friday and presumably a school day --~~ but ~~I should check that against a calendar. If~~ it ~~was a Saturday, then it might~~ not ~~have been until several hours later that they became alarmed~~.)		The [[:File:Jrh-news1.big.jpg\|newspaper clipping]] says she "was last seen Thursday at 9pm Thursday by her father [...] When her mother went to wake her for school Friday morning, she wasn't in her room." – so she clearly did go home the night before her disappearance.

			She often went for walks early in the morning (up at dawn), but it would be very unlike her not to be back in time for school.
