How about if when you purchase a music track from somewhere, they encrypt it so that it can only be played if you have the encryption key -- which would be something like your credit card number or maybe some kind of &amp;quot;copyright user ID&amp;quot;. That way pirated tracks could always be traced back to their source (or else they couldn&amp;#039;t be played) -- yet friends could still share them and an individual could play the same tracks on several machines, unlike the schemes which tie the track to a specific machine.&lt;br /&gt;
