How about Online Gift Certificates? You specify an amount and put in your credit card # (or mail your check or whatever). For security, you can specify the shipping address in advance if you want. The store automatically generates a password for the recipient to use when placing their order. The gift amount becomes an open account for the recipient -- e.g. if it's $40 and they spend $35, they have $5 credit towards another order. (Perhaps we would have a policy of crediting this back to the giver if not used within 3 months.)<br />

One major advantage of this to us is that we could deposit the money long before shipping, and have it available to pay for the order.<br />

Probably won't have time to implement this year. (Do other stores have anything like this?)<br />
