This photo ended up with a history. It was given to me in a frame, with some decorations and such; Anna had just emerged from a phase of great ennui in her life, or at least in her life while staying here in Durham, so I thought it would help me to remember her a little better if the picture were a little more... expressive, shall we say, of her as an individual:

The next time she visited, she felt compelled to amend this comment by appending one of her own. In subsequent visits, the picture was also used as one of the locations for a treasure-hunt clue (her idea; can't remember what the treasure was) and possibly other things:
